I'm setting up QoS for our voice and video IP traffic and am following the Medianet 4.0 and Telepresence SRNDs.
Concernning class default, is it better to configure for tail drop, or WRED for the class-default?
Class class-default
bandwidth percent 45
fair-queue
random-detect <-------
Without random-detect is tail drop
With random-detect is WRED
Both are described how to configure in the SRNDs, but there is no help to determine which is the best way to go.

well the calss default means all traffic not being match by other configured classes so if you want to enable WRED
is a good idea
