Reuse unsupported damaged device' displays

We have an old 52' dual system, out of order, without any support, out of life cycle.

We would like to use the displays for other purpose, like information sharing in our reception.

After removing the display, i realized, the power switch is in OFF state, so the display was powered differently. The used connections are 1 hdmi input, audio, and the switched off 220V.

I would like to know, can i use the display independently from the set, powering externally - move the pw switch to ON state - and input hdmi from an external device, like a RasPi?

Do i need to modify something on hardware level to succeed?

thank you for your replay!

This is a profile 52 dual right?

There shouldn't be much science to it, each screen as a power switch right under the screen inside the cabinet, this should turn on with a red light when switched to on, the screens have a power inlet that connects to a DNAM (Power distribution) on the base of the stand, of both screens are connected there and the DNAM is connected to a power outlet on the wall, they should receive power.

Though the displays wont actually display anything until they have a video input source.

I believe the audio connection for these is Cisco proprietary and the schematic is not shared, though I am not sure about this at all, if someone is completely sure they can chime in, I'll do some research internally and see what i can find.

Regarding switching is not as easy as with other displays, you need a serial connection to it and special software to connect to the display.

This was never intended for other purposes and the other connections were only for internal testing and workarounds while RMA arrived (in case the main port failed).

Hi,

As long as you get power delivery to the unit, you should be able to use it independently from the set as it is a simple HDMI input it has.

It is of course something TAC will not support but it is a screen with a few inputs so it should work normally.

Thank you for your quick response!

I have delivered power to the display, but there is no any "live signal", I hope hdmi cec will switch it on....

Do you have some details to share, if the power switch - next to the power input - was in OFF state, how was this big display powered on?

I can't imagine... just the hdmi , audio and the power cable was connected. I have opened the box, covers the plugs, to check, the switch in OFF mode really disconnects the power from the unit. it does....

thank you in advance for your replay!

I do agree, it is not a rocket science to power on a display - im just wondering, how was the device powered, if both screens' power switch were in OFF state...... this is a misery for me.

I tried the hdmi works  fine, but i dont know, how can i switch to hdmi2 - hdmi3, even to vga?

If we would like to use the audio input - where can we find a schematic of the installed audio connection plug?

thank you!!
