room kit k7 to k9

We've got a CS-KIT-K7 unit and would like to test it in Zoom environment. But there's been an error which relates to encryption functions of room kit. Is the K9-functionality available for the CS-KIT-K7 in a form of an activation key? Is it obtainable for free?

What encryption problem are you facing ? Could you share it in detail ?

Every cisco device support Encryption, you need to probably check which all keys you got from cisco when you purchased this product.

Does your EP is facing directly to internet ?

This is the error:

This is conference settings. Dropdown menu "encryption mode" don't show any options but "off".

Suppose here is the place to type in an encryption activation key.

Is your unit cloud-registered, registered to UCM or to Expressway?

You are correct that it must be a K9 unit to support encryption. If it is a K9 and cloud-registered, you would not get this error.

If it is a K9 unit and UCM registered you will have to turn on encryption in UCM and the Expressway it connects through.

TAC has told us there is no path to upgrade a K7 unit to K9 supporting encryption.

It is possible for the host of the Zoom meeting to turn off the requirement for encryption. We have had successful meetings with units that do not support encryption if they do.

Correct… K7 Room Series are incapable of Encryption.  There is no way to upgrade to K9.
