We have new cisco ip phones which will be installed, about 2000 phone to our existing network. We noticed that when we install phones with the power cube adapter and then connect the POE switch port last that the phones take power from the cube and not the switch. It looks like the first source of power, either from the switch or the power cube will remain as the primary source of power. It doesn't switch to the power cube when you reconnect the LAN. Is this the norm?
Also, the show power inline command for the interfaces is this a true reading ? If I start with the POE switch port and then move the power connection to the cube, then apply the "power inline never" command . The power moves over to the cube, our these readings actual for the "show power inline" ?
