Sx-20 max conference

I need to know how many video calls it is possible to make with the sx-20 with multisite license, we tested 3 with video worked and another 1 with connection, is it possible 4 video calls?

I have the following configuration:

Xsta sys

* S SystemUnit ProductType: "Cisco Codec"

* S SystemUnit ProductId: "Cisco TelePresence SX20"

* S SystemUnit ProductPlatform: "SX20"

* S SystemUnit Versão do software: "TC5.1.4.295090"

* S SystemUnit Nome do software: "s52010"

* S SystemUnit Software ReleaseDate: "2012-08-10"

* S SystemUnit Software MaxVideoCalls: 3

Testing with 3 works perfectly with 4 does not appear the video

The SX20 with Multisite option key can support four-way multipoint conferences, which will allow you to connect to three participants with the host SX20 being the fourth. If you try to connect a fourth participant, they will connect as audio-only. Hence why you see: SystemUnit Software MaxVideoCalls: 3. If you need to connect to more than 3 endpoints, you should use an external conferencing bridge such as Cisco Meeting Server for example.

Thank you very much for the answers.

Example: In case the client tested with 2 Sx-20 and another one Dx-650 worked, but when a fourth phone model 9971 tried to connect it was not possible by video only with the audio. Is that correct then?

Correct, SX20 with Multisite option key can support up to 3 video calls + 1 audio-only call.

Hi,

What if there is not multi site option installed?  How many video calls can it have?  I had this issue where no multisite installed and SX20 device on cucm admin page was set to "use endpoint" for multimode.  However when that was changed to "User Media resource group" it was able to do 4.

How can you do more than 4? With an external MCU, like CMR?

If there is no multisite option key you can make one video call + one audio call. Beyond that you would need some external bridge like CMR, CMS, etc.

Hi,

There is no multisite on these sx20's and they could only do 1 call.  Until I changed the multimode option on the device itself on CUCM to use media resource group rather than use endpoint (which is what you use when multisite installed).

So why did changing that setting allow for 4 calls.  There is no MCU, CMR etc part of the MRGL........

If there is no conference bridge in CUCM, and your SX20 was able to connect to 3 external calls (4 including itself), than it sounds as if Multisite option key might be installed on the endpoint.
On the system information page of the endpoint's web interface, what option keys does it say is installed?

Hi, It doesn't mention any options installed on the home page.  Also, when I go to the maintenance page, there is no "option key" option, to install one.  I'm not sure if this is because of the version of software running (TC6.1.1.7d7af15).

There are conference bridges in the MRGL but only CUCM software ones.  I thought they would only be for audio, not video?
