SX20 Conferencing with 3 sx10

Hi

We want to install one Sx20 and 3 Sx10.

According to Data Sheet Sx20 supports :-

●  Four-way embedded SIP/H.323 conferencing capability with MultiSite option

●  Ad-hoc conferencing supported through:

◦   Unified Communications Manager Media Resource Group (requires a Cisco TelePresence MCU)

◦   Cisco TelePresence Multiway [requires Cisco TelePresence Video Communication Server (Cisco VCS) and a Cisco TelePresence MCU]

●  Ability to natively join multipoint conferences hosted on Cisco Telepresence Multipoint Switch (CTMS)

●  Switched conferencing (SVC)¹

And sx10 supports:-

●  Cisco Ad-Hoc Conferencing (requires Cisco UCM, Cisco TelePresence Server, and Cisco TelePresence Conductor)

Is it possible to conference with 3 sx-10 from 3 diff locations with sx20 at a time without call manager & vcs.

All will have public IP.

Is it possible solution ,please help what will be the exact solution to this.

Yes. This is possible. You can setup these endpoints as stand alone without a call control (CUCM/VCS) and can call with each other. You can also host a multipoint call hosted by the SX20 as long as it have the multisite license installed. With SX20 multisite capability, you can host a conference with up to 4 participants (sites) including the SX20 (1+3). If you will require more than 4 participants in the call, a MCU or Telepresence Server will be needed to host the conference.

The SX10 endpoint supports only SIP but it can be setup as standalone without requiring CUCM/VCS for SIP registration. Give a SIP URI on the endpoint with a format prefix@IP (ex. 1234@123.4.5.6) wherein 123.4.5.6 is the IP address of the SX10.

But for best practice, it is not recommended to deploy video endpoints on internet with public IP address. There are many toll fraud on the internet and tries to break IP devices and SIP enabled devices. Instead, deploy them inside your network and hide it on firewall and use NAT.
