SX20 after 24 hours of no use, will not come out of standby mode. Remote control does not turn it on, only a full power cycle makes it work?

Do you mean the Camera or the monitor connected to SX20 does not come out of standby mode?

Please provide the firmware version and xStatus, xConfiguration from your SX20.

the camera does not come out of standby. and I will go check the firmware etc.

Is the camera control cable properly connected?  Does the camera get power?

once you reboot it, you can pan/tilt/zoom the camera, dial and answer from the remote to the codec.

That sounds like the camera control cable is connected properly then and that the camera is awake.  Have you got the HDMI cable connected properly?  Is the SX20 set to have the camera as the main video source (ie, is the MainVideoSource set to 1)?

the set up is the sx20, connected on an HDMI cable to a tv. You can use all functions, and it works. Leave the room for 24 hours, come back and the camera is in the standby position. the camera is swiveled parallel to the wall and pointed downward.

You can push every single button on the remote control and the camera remains in the standby/privacy position.

Push the power button on the front of the SX20, nothing.

Pull the power cord off the back of the SX20 and it will go through the boot up sequence, at which point the camera will swivel back to center, tilt up down and then you have an image, and control via the remote control. You can now swivel the camera, tilt make a call etc.

No changes to the TV or the HDMI, it just won't come out of standby/privacy mode.

I would try and swap the camera with a known working camera, this will help determine if the camera or the codec is faulty.  If the issue follows the camera or stays with the codec.  If you find out it's one or the other, you might need to open a TAC case to determine what is the cause, and/or get an RMA.

camera gets power AFTER a full re-boot and will work fine all day long. It is just once it goes to standby it does not come out.

What is the System Configuration > Standby > WakeupAction set to?

s/n is Ftt183802ES

firmware is TC7.1.4.908e4a9

not sure where to find xstatus or xconfiguration

the camera does not come out of standby. You can use it all day long, then wait 24 hours, next day the camera is swivelled  parallel to the wall point downwards. No button on the remote control will move the camera. Push the power button on the front of the Sx20, nothing. Pull the power and the SX20 will reboot, in the process, the camera will swing back to center and tilt up/down, and then will be responsive to the remote control. Once you have done a power cycle the remote will move the camera, etc.

Its not the monitor or the HDMI, its the SX20 staying in standby mode.
