I have two different SX20 codecs with Touch 8 codecs exhibiting the same problem. I updated the codecs to TC6.3. After the update the Touch fell offline. I proceeded to try to pair the units. Everything goes as advertised until the final step. At that point the Touch is asking for a username and password. I assume it wants the SX20 credentials so use them. I get a wrong user name or password error. I can't find anything in the documentation talking about the authentication. Has anyone else run into this? The Touch is still on the network and can see the SX20 in the pairing process.

Have you tried reseting the passwords on the SX20?
When we upgraded to 6.3 there seems to be a change in the security and the password gets set to

Thanks Ray,
I did try that. Actually removed the password from the SX20 at one point. Also tried an old password thinking something might not have completely cleared out when we changed passwords
. I also did a factory reset on the Touch, but that didn't help either.
Cheers,
Rick

Hi Rick,
its a strange issue
does it works after downgrading to old version ?

Haven't but will give it a try. Not sure how the Touch will communicate with the SX20 without being paired though.

when we get our touchpads connected for the first time - if the SX20 has no admin password set - we just enter admin as the user on the touchpad and leave the password blank. of course if this isnt helpful - then apologies.

Did you ever get anything figured out with this? I have upgraded 1 of my SX20s to 6.3.0 from 5.1.3 successfully and am having the issue described above with another. Unfortunately it is at a remote site. Our TMS server is showing wrong username or password. Our standard username/password is not working and admin with a blank password is not working either. I did notice that the IP address has changed from the static address it is configured within DNS to a DHCP address. I hope the configuration is not completely lost. I'm attempting to downgrade the unit right now as suggested above.
Thanks,

Yes Todd, we did finding what was causing the issue. It was interesting and not reklated to the upgrade. The Touch communicates with the SX20 using SSH. Near the time of our upgrade, we went through our fleet and turned off Telnet and SSH in our systems because we had a couple of systems that had an intrusion using SSH. When we did that, it created the issue I described. We had our network folks create and ACL on the network switch to give us the needed security. Hope that helps.

Thank you so much for the info. So from the web interface, our standard username/password combination did not work. We connected with SSH to the DHCP address the unit picked up and our standard username/password combination DID work. We found the command to reset the system password. The funny thing is, the "old password" was what we were trying to use. So we just set the new password to what it was before and the web interface was able to login again. It looks like alot of the configuration is missing, but at least I can connect and get things working again.

Good beans Todd. I'll have to remember that one. Sounds like a similar looking problem with a different resolution.
