SX20 : Time not showing correct in auto mode ; need to enter ntp ip address

SX20 is registered with CUCM. mode of SX20 is CUCM. CUCM is pointed to NTP server. IPPhones are showing correct time but not SX20. ntp is auto for SX20 in web configuration.
when I entered IP addresss for ntp server time become ok.

So question is why SX20 not gettting time from CUCM as like IPPhones. why we need to add the ntp server ip manually even in auto mode? so what is the difference between auto and manual then?

Or should we off the NTP mode to off when registered with CUCM.

Any body can explain this?

Hello,

So if your endpoint is provisioned with CUCM (that means config will be pushed by CUCM) then it will take the time as configured in CUCM Date time group and in that case it will override the NTP config on endpoint and make the NTP mode as Auto. And will take the time configured in CUCM Date Time Group.

But if you have just done the SIP configuration and set the CUCM as proxy on endpoint in that case the endpoint NTP config will take preference and it will not use CUCM NTP.

Thanks.

Can you please tell the main difference between provisioning and SIP proxy configuration ?

Provisioning means it will get all configuration from CUCM.
if we did SIP Proxy configuration, then we need to do configuration on SX20 Gui individually ie manually we need to configure each SX20 codec.
Is that right?

currently here is configuruation.
in provisioning page, mode : CUCM
externalmanager section address is null. no ip of cucm mentioned

In SIP Page of SX20 Codec:
Proxy 1 address: 10.1.60.2 (cucm IP address)

So I think no need to mention here the proxy address it seems.

Yes this is correct!!

Without external manager IP address it will not provision so you need to put this.

you can check the provision status from login to Web GUI and navigating to Setup--> Status--> Provisioning.

Thanks.

So in our current state should I need to remove the proxy server IP address and provide only the external address in Provisioning.
If both are provided which one is overridden?
