Hello,
I we have an SX20 with the 12x camera (
Cisco - SX20 Quick Set w/ 12x Cam, 1 mic, remote and TC8 sw | Cisco | CTS-SX20N-12X-K9 |
I'm looking over the original project & they had to run an extension, which is listed as:
Cisco Camera Break Out Cable to RJ45 and HDMI (both female) | Cisco |
CAB-PHD4XS2-SPLIT= |
Is that correct for that camera? As the description lists it for Extending the Cisco 4xS2 or 2.5x PHD Camera. Is the 12x signalling the same or is a different extension needed? Client isn't sure if camera control ever worked, & we get "no camera installed" in diags, but the video is fine.

We have extended the SX20 12x camera using the cable that came with it, then extending the RJ end that connects to the camera with standard Cat6 cable, and similar with the HDMI - by using an HDMI extension (or for longer distances, HDMI extenders). No need to use the special split cables.
Note: if you move the camera a long distance away, then the voltage loss over the control cable may be too much to be able to power the camera, so you will need to power the camera with a separate power supply (PSU-12VDC-40W2=)
