SX80 h323 call issue

Hi,

I have a SX80 with software version CE 8.2.2 registered to my call manager v11.5 via sip.

i can call all internal extensions and can call external pstn numbers.

the issue is most of the VC out there uses H.323 so when i attempt to call and H.323 conference via ip the call is rejected , after checking the call log, it is using sip and not H.323 although h.323 is enabled and set to direct ( no gatekeeper),

in order to bypass this issue i informed my client to add the called address as a contact and manually select the control protocol for that contact.

But this is not a solution for my  client since it can only be done from the web interface and the conference users are high level management and don't have time for doing so.

Please i need solution as this is not acceptable for me. and yes i tried to use x*x*x*x  or x.x.x.x@domain with no use all using sip not h.323

Best Regards

From the touch panel you can add h323: in from of the IP address, this will force the endpoint to dial using H323.

Example= h323:1.1.1.1

Other than that, you will need to deploy VCS/Expressway servers in order to do the interworking from SIP to H323, please check http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/unified-communications/telepresence-video-communication-server-vcs/118884-config-vcs-00.html

CUCM doens't support H323 or IP dialing, as it's a SIP only call control server.  To make H323 and IP calls, you'll need either a VCS or Expressway to interwork the SIP call to H323, and transform the called SIP address to an IP address.  See the document that Enrique linked to in his reply.
