All,
I have a customer that has 2 C60 codecs. One is running TC4.2 and one that is running TC6.1.1. If they add a local contact to the TC4.2 codec and then quickly power off the codec by the power switch, the contact stays. However if they do the same thing with TC6.1.1 the contact disappears.
Now I know that you are supposed to wait at least 1 minute before cutting power, to allow the settings/contacts to sync. So I told the customer this, they then waited 1 min after adding a contact on both C60s; the TC4.2 still worked fine and the TC6.1.1 still lost the contact.
Has the settings/contact sync changed somehow in TC6?
Thank you,

I replicated your issue on a C60 here running TC6.2.1, but after waiting a minute or two before restarting, the contact stayed.
My question would be: Why are your customers turning the codec off at the power switch? Why not just leave it turned on? Or if they need to power it off, use the correct shutdown procedure through the web interface (Maintenance, Restart, Shutdown TelePresence Device), or do a "Restart" through the menu, then turn the device off once the system reboots/screen goes blank - This will make sure the device has saved the contact detail?

in older versions a local xml file was used to store the information.
from what I understood now the contacts are stored in a database.
Databases are often more complex and less resistant regards power failures, ...
If you have a valid service contract think of contacting TAC.
Guess the result will be:
* its not a bug
* please file a enhancement request
I also agree why power it off so fast?
Not sure what happens if you file the shutdown command to the C90.
If its behaves as I would hope it should write back all changes.
Did not see that there is a xcommand to force config changes to be written
back, but there might be a root command for it.

Guys,
Thanks for the feedback so far. The client is claiming that the contacts are not saving over days. So on day 1 the customer adds two new contacts to the local address book, the codec is not restarted. On Day 3 they have a power outage and when the codec comes back up, the two new contacts are gone.
Martin, do you have any documentation on that change of the contacts? I must have missed that, I still thought they were stored in the XML file.
Thank you,
