To try and answer your question.
There is some information in the TMS Admin Guide, starting on pg 302. You can purge old data from the database after so many days. There are default values for the amount of days to keep each type of data, but can be adjusted to fit your deployment. Purging old database data can be adjusted in TMS under Administrative Tools > TMS Server Maintenance.
