Hope you read my story. This is my first time doing all this stuff.
I am currently doing a Voice/Video IP Telephony through Site-to-Site IPSec VPN (HP OpenVPN Server).
For site A (new site), I have an HP Open VPNServer, a UC540 and a bunch of SPA504G phones configured using CCA.
For site B (old site), we have the same set-up except for some application servers and a Telepresence Tanberge C20 codec.
But it was not me who did the setup at site B, so I am not aware of the rest of the details.
I have configured a static route on the site A-UC540 pointing to site B network, next hop ip address is the ip address of site A-openvpn server.
I have done the testing from site A, and I can already make calls to site B and vice versa.
But today was a different story at site A. I am trying to connect a Telepresence SX20 codec to UC540 to make video calls to site B.
The thing is, I cannot register the sx20 on UC540 using Cisco Configuration Assistant. So, I open a case with Cisco TAC and got 2 Telepresence engineers to assist me (quite strange?) and found out that SIP and H323 are inactive. They told me that they haven't done integration between sx20 to UC540 (they have done only with CUCM, VCS, TMS, etc. I told them that we almost have the same setup in site B with C20 codec.
So, I got the configuration of C20 codec from site-B because I am not sure if they provision the UC540 as the external manager.
After xconfig/xstatus, I saw that provisioning mode/phonebook server is 'TMS', but I haven't send them yet to Cisco TAC. And site B also have SIP and H323 inactive, but their Telepresence is working and has been there for a long time.
Is it possible to provision sx20 codec to UC540 using CUCM mode? Or there is no need to register it and just configure site-to-site video calls?
I really don't have any idea how to proceed.
