Unable to share from iPhone to Room Kit Plus via lighting HDMI adapter

We are getting a black screen on the Room Kit Plus display (Room Kit Plus codec connected to a third party TV) when sharing content from iPhone using a Lighting HDMI adapter (adapter model: Lightning Digital AV Adapter - Lightning to HDMI - Apple (CA)).

Connection flow: IPHONE > Lightning HDMI adapter > HDMI cable > Cisco Room Kit Plus codec (HDMI cable is plugged into the input connector 2 on the codec) > external TV.

Sharing from IPHONE to the TV directly is working when bypass the codec, which means the adapter is working. However we are seeing a black screen on the TV when the codec is in the middle. I suspect the codec somehow prevents content on iPhone from showing up.

Please let me know if there is a solution for this. Thank you.

If you go into the codec's webgui, Settings > Statuses > Video > Output Connector xx > Supported Resolutions - it may be that the iPhone's screen shape Resolution by iOS device — iOS Ref isn't compatible with the output monitor.  Have seen this before.  Change the output resolution to see if one of them can display your content source.

If you are displaying this locally, it should work, but if you are trying to send the content in a call, then this is "normal" behaviour.  This is usually caused by the iPhone marking its content as HDCP, so the codec (correctly) does not transmit the content in a call.

Some ways of working around this are:
- Enable AirPlay on your Room Kit Plus (assuming you're running a recent software version)
- Insert an additional device between the AV Adaptor and the codec to remove the HDCP.
