Using the EX60 as a PC screen

Hi,

From what I understand that the EX60 can be used as a PC Screen by connecting up the DVI Socket.

Its also mentioned in the user guide that "Your EX60 will then serve as your PC screen outside calls"

I am wanting to understand what will happen when a call is received when the EX60 is being used as a PC screen.

Will the video call be automatically be answered if it is set to Auto answer.

Had a quick look in the manuals but could not see much information regarding this.

Regards,

Mayank

Hi

Yes

Auto answer will automatically answer the incoming call.

We use some EX90s here exactly that way.  When there is an incoming call, you get notification on the screen (as well as the touchpanel) and the call will be answered (and show full screen) if the unit is set to autoanswer.

Guys.. Thanks for responding..

Agreed... Thats the way I would think it should work as primarily the EX60 is a VC unit. So I would think if it is set to Autoanswer then the VC Call would have priority.

But I am getting strange symptom being reported i.e. when a user is using EX60 as a PC monitor and she goes away from her desk and then she comes back she sees that the camera is on and the EX60 is show Selfview.

I can only think that while she was away someone called her EX60 and the call auto connected but did not end elegantly.

I will try to get more details i.e TC version etc.

Mayank

It happening while the user "goes away" sounds like a Power Management issue on the PC... like the PC going to sleep, so the EX shows its own display (usually the wallpaper on ours, but may be switching to the selfview on yours).  What happens when you disable the power management on the PC to not go off, or when physically you turn the PC off?

Hi

Agree to Wayne thats the same reason of power management on pc. And if you have your selfview turned on.

At times it does behave the same after a call ends however after few seconds or a min.

Thanks
