Our client has VCSC,MCU with Profile, C90, EX, MXP's registered across the different sites, now they are going to implement security on their network.

What are the consideration to be taken on the Protocols and ports. All the endpoints and MCU are registered with SIP and H323.

Can i have a document on it!

tnx

Hi Bobby,

maybe you should be more detailed about how you want to implement that security. You want to authenticate device/user with an LDAP server or using local databse on the VCS? If that the case, you might start looking at the guide below

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/telepresence/infrastructure/vcs/config_guide/Cisco_VCS_Authenticating_Devices_Deployment_Guide_X7-2.pdf

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/telepresence/infrastructure/vcs/config_guide/Cisco_VCS_Authenticating_Accounts_Using_LDAP_Deployment_Guide_X7-2.pdf

Cheers

Karim

Hi Karim,

We dont require AD integration, the VCS,MCU and endpoints are in separate network, the ports 1719 and 1720 are opened already for h323 and 5060, 5061 are opened for SIP.

What are the other ports to be opened?

tnx

Hey Bobby,

For port information refer to the VCS Firewall Deployment Guide.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/telepresence/infrastructure/vcs/config_guide/Cisco_VCS_IP_Port_Usage_for_Firewall_Traversal_Deployment_Guide_X7-2.pdf

and depending on your MCU deployment.

Ports used by Cisco acquired TANDBERG/Codian Conferencing Products, and Cisco TelePresence Serial Gateway Series and ConferenceMe
