Weird One way Video with External Polycom Endpoint

We are having a Expressway-C and Expressway-E with RMA License for B2b Calls.

We are able to setup the successful calls with some Endpoints which dial from outside to our MCS or C40 Multi-site Device.

But with on of partner company who has polycom video endpoint on Internet (Behind a Firewall), we are getting one way video.

They are able to get our video and audio. We are unable to receive their video but audio is fine.

We have C40 With Multi site License we also has MCU.

We have tired many scenarios but result is same.

But in Once case for no apparent reason the video appears.

-> we have ISDN gateway connected to C40. When other parity dial on our Public URL , call conencita through Experessway-C and E to CUCM to the C40 Endpoint

--> Endpoint dispalys NO Incoming vidoe. Other parity is able to see our video. Audio works both ways.

--> Now if i add a  audio participate via the ISDN Link. Suddenly the Other Party's video appear.

--> this seems very weird.

Any one can point out what could be the issue.

ON Exp-E I can see that the Bit Rate for Video shown is very low, although bandwidth negotiated is shown as 2 Mb but the actual bit rate on media statistics page show some 128 Bps and Error shows some value.

Hi Haris,

one way media is almost always some firewall issue, or invalid media negotiation.

The best way to troubleshoot this is to make a diagnostic logging of the call with tcpdump enabled and see what is being negotiated and whether you are receiving  rtp packets in two streams or not.

Also, what version of Expressway are you running as the X8.6 series had some issues with Polycom.

Cheers,
