What disadvantage does running a 7975G phone on a 10/100 port

Is there any downfall to running a 7975G phone on a non Gig Port?  We want to roll out the phones faster than our network can get to GIG.

There is no issue. The phone works fine anyway.

Hi Donna,

As Paolo nicely noted (+5 "P" ) there should be no issue with this

type of deployment whatsoever.

We've been doing this over the years with 7945/65's by rolling them out before

the "Gig" infrastructure was built. The only problems we ever encountered were

with PoE on some of the older switches.

For these we had to run the command;

power inline delay shutdown 20 initial 300

On the individual switchports
