Hi There,
I am running:
- Cluster of 2 Expressway-C in v8.2.2.
- Cluster of 2 Expressway-E in v8.2.2
- Cluster of 3 CUCM in 10.5
- Cluster of 2 IM&P (active/standby) in 10.5
I would like to know is handled the XMPP federation when running a cluster of Expressway E?
I create SRV records for _xmpp-server and _xmpp-client with the same weigth and priority, it works very well, but when on Expressway fall down, no more federation.
For exemple:
User A from Company A and User B from Company B are chatting with Jabber using XMPP federation.
If I have one Expressway-E down in the cluster from Company A, User B (Company B) is no longer able to chat with user from Company A.
I would like to know if there are best practices or design as it looks not clearly stated in the documentation.
Thanks.

Yep, I ask my SE about this and unfortunately this is not supported.

Are you sayING HA is not supported for xmpp federation?

Nope, not yet supported.
But after running expressway 8.5.2, I did an failover test and curiously, I kept the federation still available.
