Correct that the EX series can only run TC, and not CE. But incorrect on the last release - since TC7.3.6 (April 2016), there has been TC7.3.7 (October 2016), TC7.3.8 (February 2017), TC7.3.9 (March 2017) and most recently at the beginning of October 2017, TC7.3.11.
