SX20 pinout description

Hello everybody,

Can anybody tell me the meaning of cold and hot in the electric scheme of the Mic of the SX20 mini jack, 4-conductor? And if my scheme below is correctly configured?

Based in this information below:

Tip = Hot = Channel Left

Ring 1 = Cold = Channel Right

Your scheme is correct based on the SX20 mic pin-out.

The MIC20 is phantom powered supplied by the SX20 codec using 12V DC for muting/unmuting control. From basic electronics the "cold" conductor is the "-V" polarity and the "hot" is the "+V" polarity.

The Left Channel and Right Channel only applies to audio line inputs and outputs. It's a different story for SX20 Microphone where in the Ring and Tip denotes the polarity of the voltage.

Ring 1 = Cold = -V

Tip = Hot = +V

I'm looking to see if this codec and the newer roomkit codecs supply more than 12 volts phantom power.  Not finding much information on this other than what's required for Cisco's microphones.  I'm looking at a 3rd party mic that requires 18 volts.
