We are excited to announce the General Availability of Private IP Address Reporting for Chromebooks within Cisco Umbrella. This new feature allows customers to configure the reporting of private IP addresses for Chromebooks within DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH) templates.

Key Highlights:

  • Private IP Address Reporting: View the private IP addresses of Chromebooks directly in the Cisco Umbrella Dashboard reports.
  • DoH Template Support: Compatible with both Default and Managed Guest Session DoH templates.

Configuration Steps:

  • Copy the DoH Template URI: Retrieve the relevant DoH template from the Cisco Umbrella Dashboard.
  • Insert Private IP Address Placeholder: Add the 'DEVICE_IP_ADDRESSES' placeholder into the DoH template.
  • Update Google Admin Console: Apply the updated DoH template in the Google Admin Console for the appropriate Organizational Unit (OU).

For detailed configuration steps, please refer to the documentation linked below.

Important Notes:

  • Ensure all Chromebooks are updated to ChromeOS 126 or later before configuring this feature to avoid potential loss of internet connectivity and DNS protection.
