Update, February 28th 2025:
Boston will start accepting traffic for all customers on Monday, March 3rd 2025.
Original Message:
The Umbrella edge data center in Boston, MA is being upgraded to support secure web gateway services. This data center previously provided DNS only. Over the coming weeks Cisco will gradually start accepting SWG traffic to this data center.
The upgrade to this edge data centers expand our rapidly growing global cloud architecture.
Due to our innovative Global Cloud Architecture and anycast routing, each additional data center reduces latency and increases overall availability. Customers in the region may see their connections automatically go to Boston.
To avoid disruption to customers with reserved IPs, their traffic will not be sent to Boston automatically. If you have reserved IPs and are unexpectedly connecting to Boston please contact support.
