Customer wants Exchange Integration with Unity for 2500-3500 users. I would like to centralize Callmanager/IPCC on MCS-7835H equipment. The also want redundancy and >36 ports.
Any general advise? Number of servers, etc? I couldn't find a recommendation on number of users/max ports per server for Unity 4x.

The Cisco Unity Supported Platforms List should answer some of your questions. It has information on maximum users and ports for the different support servers.

Hi -
Some other things for you to consider:
- How many Exchange servers do you have and are they in the same administrative group in the Exchange organization? For example, we have multiple domains, multiple administrative groups, therefore we are using one Unity server per Exchange administrative group at minimum.
- How many information stores per Exchange server?
- If you have an existing voicemail service today, such as Octel or Nortel, how many voice ports are configured? With Unity unified messaging, you may not need a one-to-one port relationship. We have found that over the course of 1-2 weeks, customers get used to using Unity, and more of them use the Playback to speaker option with the ViewMail client. This does not require a port. Ports are used for MWI, telephone record and playback, and message notification (which our customers do not use very much). We currently have 24 ports for 650+ customers with only 8 ports busy at high-usage times.
