Is it OK to run the Unity upgrade process using terminal services? Same thing with applying the 4.0.4 SR1.

What are the limitations for what you can & canna do over terminal services?

Ta,

NJ.

OK found the info in the Maintenance Guide!

Terminal Services Remote Functionality Cisco Unity 4.0(1) and Later

Install or upgrade Cisco Unity - Not supported

Set the dB level of recorded names and greetings by using the Set Volume utility - Not supported

Convert recorded names and greetings to a different codec by using the Set Wav Format utility - Not supported

has this policy changed at all for Unity 4.05? Once I have W2K, SQL, and E2k installed on box, can unity be installed remotely, with failover? What about the TSP. Any remote options?

Never install *anything* over TS - it just isn't worth the gamble!

Thanks for the response however due to budgetary concerns, I need to know from a cisco persective if this is supported or not with unty 4.05 with failover. we have installed successfully using TS and VNC in the past...

Nothing has changed in this policy - there are problems with anything that integrates with WAV drivers so any application that uses them (i.e. such as Set Volume or the like) or can install/upgrade them (such as the installs) is not supported via TS. You can get lucky and the setup will work but if you have trouble, TAC will ask you to install locally.
