no - the option to mark a message private/secure is the same (in the after recording options menu) regarldess of which of the conversation models you're using (Optional conversation, any of the alternate key pad maps, custom key pad or standard). If you have private messages marked to be encrypted then marking the message private should have the same effect regardless.
