9971 VPN Calls (inbuilt vpn client) and local PSTN

I have CUCMBE 6000 and one 2901 Gateway  RUnning in  Head Quaters.

There is a Branch office which has only one IP Phone. Its is 9971.

9971 has buit in VPN Client and  2901 in HQ will be the VPN server and also Voice Gateway.

Branch office has a PSTN line. But they have no router or gateway in Branch office.

Even when the 9971 Phone is registered with CUCMBE in HQ through inbuilt VPN Client ,

Only Calls to Internal HQ extensions should be gone thorugh the VPN from Branch and all other

calls should be diverted to Brach office PSTN line itself  from 9971 in Branch.

Anyone please provide me a Solution  ? Is there any way adding any cost effective solution in Branch

side so that Calls to PSTN should be gone through Branch side PSTN line itself and Calls to  HQ should be gone through VPN.

You need to have a voice gateway at that location, depending on the number of calls. Most customers for users at branch locations that only have 1 phone will send all calls through the tunnel to HQ and redirect 911 calls locally using a small voice gateway like a 881

Thank You much For your Valuable info Srini..!!!

So if i have a gateway in branch things will solve.

But The Branch office doesnt have a public ip. So i think Site to site VPN is not Possible.

Can i use 881 Router as a Remote VPN Client  to 2901 VPN server  and there by adding

881 in CUCM of  HQ ?

You can use the 881 as the voice gateway and also have a VPN tunnel back to HQ

Thanks

Srini

Isn’t the 881SRST EOL?

Srini , What is this Tunnel Back to HQ.. That means we dont need any Public IP on Branch side. Still the 881 will register with HQ CUCM as a Gateway ? So the 9971 Phone will register to CUCM through 881  ?

The 9971 will register behind the VPN tunnel that the 881 will originate.

Thanks

Srini

OK.. that means  The 881 Router can act as a Client for  2901 Router ( VPN Server) ?

Yes that could be one solution
