I have installed Voice mail only and used the suggested users, unityadmin etc, for the services, install and administration. While we could use both the admionistrator and unityadmin user to change active directory users and passwords, we chagned the administrator password. After that we can still log in but we do not have domain admin access. Administrator is still part of the correct groups and unityadmin, whose password we did not change, stil has access.
Any ideas?

Hi -
Changing the password of an account does not remove it from security or distribution groups. When you say Administrator, are you talking about the local administrator account for the server? This is the account you logon locally to the server, not the domain. You may have also created a domain account called Administrator. Since unityadmin still has access, I would logon to the Unity server using account unityadmin and logon to the domain, not the local server. Go to Start - Programs - Administrative Tools - Active Directory Users and Computers (or Start - Programs - Microsoft Exchange - Active Directory Users and Computers). Look in the Groups OU for a security group called Domain Admins. If you don't find it there, from your ADUC MMC, click on the folder with the magnifying glass at the toolbar (this searches your AD). Once you find Domain Admins, double-click the group and select the Members Tab (second tab). Look to see if your Administrator account is in there and whether it says servername\administrator (local server admin account) or domain\administrator. Your Unityadmin account should also be in the Domain Admins group so that it can run the permissions wizard.

Administrator was already part of the domain admin group and we were able to use administrator login for domain admin tasks before the password change. Any other ideas?
