Advice needed for CUCM upgrade from 11.5 SU8 to 11.5 SU9

Hello All,

We attempted an upgrade from Cisco CUCM 11.5 SU8 to 11.5 SU9 and although the software installation was successfully completed to the spare partition we ran out of time to perform the final "switch version" commands. The advice I am seeking is whether it possible to continue with the final stage of the upgrade ie perform the "switch version" or would it be safer to start the upgrade again given that database changes may have been made in the period of time since the original upgrade was started.

Many thanks!

Either option is valid, it's really up to you.

If you have no problem losing the config changes, perform the switch

If you don't want to lose the config changes, you'll have to re-install the upgrade again and switch right after it completes.

You can make configuration changes only when you have completed the upgrade on all nodes and completed postupgrade tasks. The upgrade overwrites configuration changes that you make during the upgrade, and some configuration changes can cause the upgrade to fail.

since your upgrade task completed successfully and only switch version pending you can proceed with switch version.

If  made changes are not available you need to reconfigure it again.

Best regards,

Hello Jaime,

I apologize for asking this question however can I assume that if we don’t re-install but perform the switch we would then follow the normal Post-Upgrade Task Flow  as outlined in https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/upgrade/11_5_1/cucm_b_upgrade-guide-cucm-115/cucm_b_upgrade-guide-cucm-115_chapter_01000.html.

Thank you in advance.
