BE7M-M6-K9: which is the minimum VMware vSphere ESXi license needed?

Hello,

we are going to buy some "BE7M-M6-K9" servers.

We know from the CCW that "This appliance requires a license for VMware vSphere ESXi; license is NOT included and must be sold separately or customer-provided".

So, which is the minimum VMware vSphere ESXi license needed to make these servers work properly with the various UC applications (CUCM, IM&P, Expressway, CUCCX, etc.)?

TIA and regards.

Hello Jaime,

we have already had a look at that page, but we have not found anything relevant (except for the sentence "If hardware is Cisco Business Edition 6000/7000 appliance, either an embedded virtualization license or general-purpose license may be used.", which in our case is necessarily a general-purpose license, but it is nor specified which license type is needed.

What are we missing?

Regards.

What license to use really depends on YOUR ESXi requirements/features you need, if standard checks all the marks, then you can use it, if you need vCenter, you need one that enables vCenter, if you need DRS, then you need one with that feature, etc.

Currently, we have some "BE7M-M4-K9" servers, which have an embedded "VMW-VS6-FND-K9" license.

In order to have the same feature level on the future "BE7M-M6-K9" servers, which is the analog general-purpose VMware 7.x license?

That's a conversation you need to have with a VMWare sales representative.

VMW-VSP-STD-1A will be required and the count must match  your the  CPU count . The Be7k comes with VMware 7 preinstalled and you need to have the license for Vmware 7.

Hello Nithin,

if we try to add the code "VMW-VSP-STD-1A" on the CCW, the description of this item is "VMware vSphere 8 Std (1 CPU, 32 Core) 1-yr, Support Required".

So, are we sure that this license is valid with the VMware vSphere 7?

Please let us know.

TIA and regards.

There was a versions with 7

Hello Nithin,

based on the information received from the TAC team, the license "VMW-VSP-STD-1A" "ships as v8 but at time of activate/register, you can request downgrade to 7 so it will work with ESXi 7.0”.

Regards.
