Call blocking based on called number

Hi all experts.

In CUCM 8 or CME 4.x/7.x, is it possible to block calls coming from (PSTN) with the following prefix

+92 21 0345xxxxxxx

Let me explain the scenario which is very simple.

1) ITSP will be providing us sip trunk (30 channels)
2) SIP trunk will be terminated on 3845 router (running cme 7.1)
3) This router will be connected to CUCM 8.0 over SIP trunk (pls let me know if choosing h323 here makes any difference)

So now all the calls coming from ITSP shall be forwarded to CUCM. Is there anyway i can block the above prefix, so that any call coming from

+92-21-0345xxxxxxx is blocked and is not able to reach any extension in our organization.

I wanted to know if we can block this prefix on CME or CUCM or both ?

If its possible, pls explain it to me a bit and also refer me any cisco doc for further reference.

Thanks alot in advance

Hi,

You can do that with voice translation rules.

Here is a good example on how doing that:  http://www.blindhog.net/using-voice-translation-rules-to-block-numbers/

Information about voice translation rules: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk652/tk90/technologies_configuration_example09186a00803f818a.shtml

Dear Sir,

During my research on netpro regarding the same problem, i came to know that on SIP trunk, it might be not possible to block calls. But there was chance that i misinterpreted it,

The link you have forwarded is blocking calls from FXS/FXO i think. I need to know regarding SIP trunk specifically, so kindly confirm that the same can be done on SIP trunk as well.

If there is any cisco doc for reference pls tell me

Kindly look at the link below

https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/1154912#1154912

According to the above link, it says call blocking can only be done on H323. Why is it not possible on SIP ?

Any help pls ?

Any guidance pls ?
