Can you elaborate a little bit here? You could use AXL and SOAP to access the directory information inside the CUCM database. You cant however bind to the LDAP database in CUCM as could in Active Directory

There is a request from management to be able to query the corporate directory (we are not integrated with AD) from our company internal sharepoint site. So users can go the a sharepoint page, do a query and we will out the result in sharepoint or a webpage.

Have you tried the Web Dialer? You will get access to the corporate directory.
This link is old, but all of the fetures here are included on CUCM 7.X

The other way will be to point a web browser to the corporate directory URL that the phones uses, you will get the resuls as a XML; just go to:
