Can't Play messages through the phone

I have one user (as of now) that gets a new message in the Mailbox, the little message light lights up and they get an indication in their in-box showing the message. They then go and check the message, Unity says there is one new message, they press one to listen to it and then unity says there are no new messages. the light is still on on the phone. He also has a couple of saved messages and it does the same thing as the new message, it says you have 2 saved messages, the user presses 3 to listen to them, then unity says there are no saved messages?

B>Symptom:

A Unity Subscriber hears "You have 'x' new messages. To play new messages, Press 1"

After pressing '1', the Unity Subscriber hears "You have no new messages"

The message(s) do appear in the email client application. Message Waiting Indicators (MWI) status

is correct.

Conditions:

Unity version 4.0(4) SR1 integrated with Microsoft Exchange. One or more Unity Subscribers are

affected consistently.

Workaround:

A 4.0(4) Engineering Special 49 corrects this issue.

Further Problem Description:

The integration with Exchange involves a process where messages in the subscriber inbox are

filtered to designate voicemail & email, urgency of the message and the status of the message (read

or unread). If each of these filters are not applied, the folders containing the messages will not

be created. The symptoms above occur when the Unity Subscriber Conversation attempts to access the

folder.
