Our UCCE environment was upgraded to 10.5 last year.
Our DTMF relay is RTP-NTE.
Currently, all of our IVRs have numeric DTMF input only. A recent request (from one of our clients) was made to have an IVR where the caller would input a 9-character alphanumeric ID (e.g. 09TJ667e3).
I've done numerous Google searches, and can find little information on alphanumeric DTMF input with respect to IVRs.
Based on our current setup, I have the following questions:
1) Is it even possible to capture alphanumeric caller input within an IVR?
2) Is there an element within Call Studio that does this? Or, would I need to create a custom element to accommodate this? Please explain (high-level) how I would implement this.
3) Assuming that there are positive responses to 1) & 2) above, how would the caller input letters?
I've read in different blogs that each number on the phone is represented by a string of the number, and then lower-case, upper-case letters (e.g. "2" is represented by "2abcABC"); and, if a caller wanted to input 09TJ667e3, he she would do the following:
0#9#88888#55555#6#6#7#333#3#. Is this correct? Or, would the caller input numbers & letters differently?
Thanks in advance!
