Chance ESXi VMware Version 8 to 9 for CUCM 11.5

Hi Guys,

Hey... I want to install CUCM 11.5 with the OVA "cucm_11.5_vmv8_v1.1.ova" VMWare recommends to have 11.5 with VMWare version 9.

I was thinking into grab the ova file form Cisco and Change it by myself line this.

Here are my questions,.

Is there an ova file that supports CUCM 11.5 for VMWare version 9,

something like this?

cucm_11.5_vmv9_v1.1.ova

What do you recommend if I want to install CUCM 11.5 with VMWare 9?

It is possible to update the my ESXi Host from VMWare Version 8 to Version 9 without being forced to fresh install?

Please advise.

Where did you see that? I wouldn't take VMWare's word for it. Cisco is ultimately responsible for your solution. I.e., If you want Cisco TAC to support what you're doing, then follow the Cisco documentation, not the VMWare documentation.

You're of course free to challenge Cisco's documentation, and you can do that via a TAC case.

The virtualization guide states that for ESXi 6.5 and up, use the vmv8 file:

The OVA read me states that it can be used for ESXi 5.0 and beyond, however, if you're really wanting to switch up to vmv9, there is a section in there too, which describe the process for changing the hardware version number, by editing the VMX file (though I'm not recommending you do it).
