Hi Experts,

I want to know,

Is there any way to restrict the File transfer option in Jabber for windows for certain users? I have seen similar posts and understood that its possible using custom configuration. But can anyone tell me exactly what is the minimum version requirement of CUCM, CUPS and Jabber for acheiving the same...

Thanks

TT

Any version which supports Jabber for Windows can do that, review the admin guide if you want specifics depending on the J4W version you'll use. All info is available on CCO.

You just need to configure the custom jabber config .xml file for such users under the CSF device config.

How to configure the custom file and properties is also within the admin guide.

This will be located in your jabber-config.xls file to which the Jabber clients will download on opening of application.

There is a string that you can add to restrict file ext's similar to the example below;

.exe;.msi;.bat;.cmd;.vbs;.js;.com

Cheers!

Thanks for the reply....Will check as per the instructions and will update

Just to add to Java/James (+5), here's a link to an HTML file to assist with the jabber-config.xml file creation/modification:
