Hi

We have a specific requirnment for a new customer. The customer has procured cisco unity connection with the following licence unity cxn advanced option tts, asr. They want their voice message to be retrieved also from excahge i.e unified comm.I am not sure it unity connection supports this.Going through a doc for tts i believe if they want the emails to be heard on the ip phone this can be used. Also if it supports then do i need to follow the steps like one for cisco unity i.e the server would be a part of the domain and forest prep has to be run. Please give me the doc if anybodys got it.Thanks in advance.

Hi -

You may refer to this Cisco doc - http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/2x/requirements/20cucsystemreqs.html

Note: Checking voice messages from Exchange requires an IMAP client. Two big caveats:

- Users can only retrieve, save, and delete voice messages. Users cannot reply to or forward voice messages.

- Users cannot play secure voice messages by using the IMAP client.

If you want true unified messaging, with voice messages in the user's inbox and the ability to reply and forward voice messages, you will need a Unity server, not Connection. However, as the document states, you can pretty much do what your poast was asking. Unity Connection 2.0 is a Linux server and as such, will not be installed in your domain. Here is a link to the install guide - http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/2x/installation/guide/2xcucig010.html#wp1069923
