CISCO UNITY LICENSING

Hello,

I've been asked to come up with the license requirement for Cisco Unity connection for my company. We already have a CUCM 8.5 that's been upgraded to 11.5. we have about 1000 phones registered with the Enhanced License. 

Now we want to integrate unity connection 11.x because of the Voice mail and IVR feature. I already know we need the Unity server License (i don't know the part number) but that's all i know. 

What other license do we need? Do we need specific license for each user like we do in call manager? 

Any help will with the licenses and part number for complete deployment will be greatly appreciated.

Hi

Cisco Unity Connection user and interoperability functions are offered under a single, low-cost Basic user license that you can use for all core functionality (voicemail, unified messaging, or integrated messaging). An Enhanced user license provides all the user and interoperability functions available with the Basic license plus the Cisco Survivable Remote Site Voicemail capability for branch-office users. Enhanced licensing provides a second standby mailbox at the branch office for remote users. Both Basic and Enhanced capabilities are provided with Cisco Unified Workspace Licensing (UWL).

Cisco SpeechView (transcription services) is an additional per-subscriber subscription based license providing Speech to Text capability.

The Cisco Enterprise License Manager (ELM) hosts Cisco Unity Connection licenses. The Cisco ELM can be running on the same server as Cisco Unity Connection or on a remote server.

If i get you correctly, all i need is the required user license for the features i want right?

We already have Enhanced license on the CUCM so how do we proceed from there?

what other licenses do we need? it's all very confusing

hi i hope this helps you. 1 is  for already running cisco unity connection and  2 for the new deployment i have added the details 

1. Use the following steps when ordering add-on software licenses to an existing deployment.

Step 1.   Select the top-level product part number (Table 4).

The license upgrade part number is specifically designed to allow you to enter the Cisco Dynamic Configuration Tool (DCT) and create one license key when you are ordering multiple mailboxes or features. Order only one 
top-level license upgrade part number, and then add multiple options using the next step.

If the customer is upgrading from Cisco Unity Connection Version 9.x, 10.x, or 11.x to 12.x with Cisco SpeechView, you don’t have to order the upgrade license. You just need to contact the Cisco Global Licensing Organization (GLO) at licensing@cisco.com to get the upgraded Version 10.x, 11.x, or 12.x licenses.

2. New systems: Ordering components individually

All new system orders for Cisco Unity Connection should follow the steps presented here.

For more information about the steps described here or about the options available in each step, please refer to the complete description provided earlier in the section Components of an Order.

Note:    The tables throughout this document display the part numbers of all Cisco Unity Connection versions that are orderable (not only the current shipping version). Please check the description of each part number carefully to help ensure that you order the correct version number.

Step 1.   Select the top-level product part number (Table 1). Select one required version for Cisco Unity Connection software. The –K9 (restricted) version supports both control and data plane encryption, whereas the XU-K9 (unrestricted) version supports only control plane encryption. Note that you should choose the –K9 (restricted) version if the customer plans on integrating Cisco Unity Connection with Cisco Unified Communications Manager Mixed Mode security, for example.

Note:    Selection of restricted software versions 11.x and 10.X (–K9 versions) will automatically provide an Encryption PAK for installing on Cisco Prime License Manager managing this restricted software. If the customer needs data plane encryption (such as Secure Real-Time Transport [SRTP]) turned on in the restricted Cisco Unity Connection 11.x or 10.x versions, they must install this new Encryption PAK on Cisco Prime License Manager.

Note:    Cisco Prime License Manager must be at Version 11.5 SU2 to recognize this new Encryption PAK.
