My current call flow PSTN  >  3945 Voice Gateway  >  CUCM  > unanswered call > Unity

When the call hits the gateway we have a translation rule that appends the calling party's caller id with a 9 for local inbound calls and a 91 for long distance inbound calls. This was implemented to make it convenient for are users to redial missed calls to their desk phones. This concept works well for returning calls from the desk phone but when the user is not onsite and the missed call message lands in the email inbox they are complaining that they can't just click on the number in the missed call message and return the call because the number is appended with the 9 or 91.  What I want to know is it possible to strip the 9 or 91 as the call flows from CUCM to Unity.

If you have a SIP integrated CUC you can create calling party transformation patterns, make sure that you put them in a partition and CSS that is not used for call routing, to strip the 9 and 91. Then assign the CSS to the SIP trunk for calling party transformation and reset the trunk for the change to take effect.
