CMC Call Accounting via CUCM

Dears,

I have a case where 120 calls are simultaneous coming to the voice gateway (4 E1). These calls should be a pre-paid calls.
However, we cannot get the CMC from the router itself in order to check if it is correct (to continue the call) or not. CMC needs to be assigned per user.

What are the needed components ? do we need a CUCM to store the CMC and verify the codes and then route the call back to the voice gateway (outgoing E1)?

How can we integrate the analog PBX to our CUCM ? should we add additional E1 on the voice gateway level ?

How can we assign CMC to every user ?

Awaiting your kind feedback.

Regards,

Sabine Mattar

Do we need to add licenses on the call manager ? it is only used to generate the CMC and route back the calls to the voice gateway.

Have you reviewed the material on CMC in the CUCM documentation???

CMC is only applicable to outbound calls from CUCM, via CMC enabled RP.

You create the CMC's, then keep a list of which user maps to which code.

How to integrate a 3rd party PBX depends on the other end options, SIP, H.323, PRI, etc.

Yes, your CUCM should already have the licences you need to add your phones so you can use it. An unlicensed CUCM will remove all admin capabilities after 60 days, and the only way to get them back, is to add the required licenses.

Hi Jaime,

Thanks for the reply.

What about the Forced authorization code ? is it also applicable to outgoing calls only?

In our case, analog phones are still using the existing analog PBX, so there is no need to add licenses on the call manager for these analog phones (these are not registered to the CUCM). Please correct me if I am wrong.

The scenario is the following:

1) A user is calling a PSTN Number

2) This number reaches the PBX that is connected to the voice gateway via 4 E1 lines lines

3) The voice gateway will translate the non-VoIP to VoIP networks

4) The voice gateway forward the call to the CUCM where a FAC is associated to a RP for every user. (RP authorization level is the same for every FAC)

5) If the FAC is correct, the CUCM will then forward the call back to the VG and do the call.

Regards,

Sabine

Yes, FAC and CMC work at RP only.

No, phones in other PBX do not need licenses in CUCM
