CUCILync stuck in softphone mode

I've got a user who's CUCILync is stuck in softphone mode, and when you click the area to switch to desk phone mode, it simply gives a symbol for 'no' and goes back to softphone mode.  I've seen it before, but can't remember how to fix the issue.

Does anyone have any ideas?

What version are you running, I think the latest 8.6 version has some bugs with it and you might want to go back to 8.5.6.

Other things to check is making sure the user and phone are both set for CTI Allowed, and that the phone is associated with the end user.

Excellent point on 8.5.6 Chris.  One question i have is in regard to the phone...if the user has multiple phones (one of them being a temp device), does EVERY phone need to be associated to the user account...?

If you want the user to be able to control the phone from CUCI-Lync then yes, it needs to be associated with the end user.
