CUCM 12.5SU2 - ADLDS Authentication WinSev 2022

Good Afternoon All,

We are looking to replace our 2012 ADLDS servers and have ADLDS on 2022 servers ready to go. However, when trying to Authenticate with ADLDS server 2022 as we had some issues and reverted back to our current boxes.

Looking at the compatibility matrix Here:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/compat/12_x/cucm_b_compatibility-matrix-cucm-imp-125x.html#reference_431F9DF92332EAD5A23D7DF86E766D27

Supported LDAP Directories 12.5(x)

The following LDAP directories are supported:

  • Microsoft Active Directory 2008 R1/ R2

  • Microsoft Active Directory 2012 R1/ R2

  • Microsoft Active Directory 2016

  • Microsoft Active Directory 2019—Supported for 12.5(1)SU2 and later

  • Microsoft Lightweight Directory Services 2008 R1/ R2

  • Microsoft Lightweight Directory Services 2012 R1/ R2

  • Microsoft Lightweight Directory Services 2019—Supported for 12.5(1)SU2 and later

I would assume ADLDS running on server 2022 is not supported by CUCM 12.5.x or from looking 14.x either?

Has anyone else tried to use Winserv 2022 ADLDS for user Authentication and User Syncs and got it working, if so did you have to do any extra steps?

Do we know when Server 2022 ADLDS will be supported?

We have a reason for doing it this way due to multiple AD domains.

Thank you.

As you said, both CUCM 14 and 12.5 Compatibility Guide do not mention 2022. So I also believe it is not compatible. CUCM 15 will be released soon. But I am not sure if 2022 is supported or not, and we will only know that once it is released.

If I remember correctly, one of my customers mentioned they are planning to move to 2022. I can check with them on Sunday, as Friday and Saturday are off in this region.

From the information given by Cisco on v15 there will be no new functionality or features in the initial release. It will solely focus on the switch to a new operating system and move to a 64 bit version. So it is highly unlikely that a new version of ADLDS would be supported.

Morning Nithin,

Were you able to find anything out from your customer?

Thank you,

Richard.

The release notes are now out for CUCM 15 and it is supporting ADLDS 2022. Due to us being not on version 14 of CUCM we will need to have a 2019 ADLDS as that is the only version supported by 12.5 and 15.
