CUCM, CUCM IM and Presence and CUBE - Training - Where to begin?

Hi all,

I have taken on a new role, and have inherited an environment consisting of CUCM, CUCM IM and Presence (with Jabber in the mix), and some CUBEs.

I am a complete newbie when it comes to Cisco collaboration, having dealt solely with Skype for Business in the past. At the moment I have little understand of how the pieces are fitting together.... My organisation plans to move to a new ITSP in the near future and I want to make sure I am up to speed with what is in place at present before I have to make any changes.

I am looking for some training materials to help me get started on what will no doubt be a long journey towards understanding the setup. Can anyone point me in the right direction with regards to quality training courses/materials for Cisco CUCM etc? COVID19 has unfortunately removed any possibility of onsite training so I would be grateful if you guys could recommend some online materials (e.g. udemy, cbtnuggets etc)

thank you,

PFD

You can check out the Cisco Learning Network for collaboration topics:
https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/

If you have some previous voice and network experience, I would also consider the new certification course - Implementing Cisco Collaboration Core Technologies.

Finally, a good place to review the CSR Release is look at the Solution Reference Network Design documentation. This is for version 12.x, but you can look up 10.x and 11.x as well.

Thanks a lot Mike, this is all very helpful.

I will take a look into the Implementing Cisco Collaboration Core Technologies course. I hold a CCNA, but as I mentioned previously I do not have experience in deploying voice in Cisco environments, however having reviewed the course content it looks like it could be an excellent place to begin.

I'll also start digging into the documentation.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I appreciate it.
