CUCM Device Mobility - Common Phone Profile

Hi there,

We would like to use Device mobility so when we send out phones to or regional offices, they grab their roaming device pool settings.

I don't see any option to specify the common phone profile in the device pool.

We use the "Load Server" setting on the CUCM phone configuration to specify the local TFTP server to download the new firmware locally.

This would be a different server at each location.

Is there any way we can assign the common phone profile as part of the device mobility process?

Unfortunately, the answer is no.  The question you are asking in valid, but the problem is you are trying to mix phone specific configuration with location specific information...and there is no path to mix those 2 items.  Why?  Because the Common Phone Profile determines how a phone behaves irrespective of location....and the device mobility sets the phone's calling characteristics based on the location and that is irrespective of the type of phone it is.  So the loadserver setting is definitely a location setting, but also a device specific setting based on model type. 

So the long winded answer to your question is that the common phone profile will need to be assigned to devices on a per site basis to get the right loadserver for TFTP download.
