CUCM MGCP GW

We will be migrating CUCM from 8 to 11. Physical to VM re-host.

We will be leaving 8 in place for a while to ensure 11 is working properly.

I would rather not delete all of the MGCP GW's in 11 while testing, however I do not believe 8 and 11 can be registered simultaneously.

What would be the best way to ensure there is no conflict between 8 and 11?

Any other gotcha's?

Thank you

That's correct, they can only register to one, you'll have to provide more info, if you're going to be using the same IP/hostname, if not, are both reachable, one in production, other in lab network, etc.

The 11 will have a new host and new ip address.

We will using PCD to migrate from 8.

We will not shut down 8 at the end of migration.

We want 8 and 11 to communicate to each other because the users will move gradually to 11.  In the mean time, the GW's will be on 8 and then ultimately moved to 11.

So when 11 starts up, it will obviously try and register to the GW's.

What is the best way to ensure there is no conflict and then move the GW's?

Thank you
