Hello!
I am going to install two CUCM, one Publisher and one Subscriber, in two server with different vmware versions. One server has an old version of vmware (4.1) and the other server is new, i dont know if the version 4.1 is on sale for the newest server.
I want to know if is necessary that both servers (UCS) have the same version of vmware? and if this could cause compatibility problems between the uc applications (cucm, im&p, unity)?
Please help with your valuable suggestions or experiences.
Thank you!.

Technically as long as the version of CUCM is supported on both ESXi version this should be OK (i.e. latest CUCM supported on ESXI 4.1 is 10.5), but keep in mind your OVA templates will be different between the servers.
