CUCM Refresh Upgrade to Version 12.x (Switch Version)

Hi Team,

I would like to understand the switch version steps on CUCM when we do refresh upgrade to version 12.x (Multi node cluster).

Till CUCM version 10.x, i believe we followed the below steps for refresh upgrade (to 10.x).

1. Upgrade the publisher

2. Switch the publisher from inactive to active partition

3. Upgrade the subscriber

4. Switch the subscriber from inactive to active partition.

However as per the below link of CUCM version 12.x upgrade guide, below are the steps mentioned for refresh upgrade.

1. Upgrade the publisher.

2. Upgrade the subsequent subscriber.

3. Switch the publisher to active partition.

4. Switch the subscriber to active partition.

I understand that underlying OS is now CentOS but still would like to confirm the steps for CUCM and also for the Unity Connection.

I guess you have not reviewed the 10.5 or 11.5 guides since they were revamped, because 10.5 shows the same procedure. see table 1

You need to refer to the CUC documentation for the procedure for CUC upgrade.
