CUCM upgrade from 8.6.2 to 11.5

Hello there

i am currently planning to upgrade CUCM version from 8.6.2 to 11.5. I have some queries about the upgrade plan. someone please help me getting this clarified. I am also upgrading the Hardware from UCS C210 M2 to BE7M.

1. My Pub node is on UCS C220 M3 server. the hardware will remain same for publisher. now once installing Subscriber on new Hardware and pointing to publisher will there be any challenge? I mean there is nothing to do with the hardware for CUCM to communicate each other? as pub and sub will be in different hardware.

Pub: UCS C220 M3S

New Sub: BE7M-M5-K9

2. Does CUCM 8.6.2 support ESXi 6.0?

Thanks & Regards

Mohnish Dhurve

Hi Mohnish,

The Cisco call manager 8.x doesn't support ESXi 6. it supports up ESXi 5.1 and from CUCM version 9 started support of version 6.

CUCM doesn't look at the HW of other servers, it assumes it's supported as you managed to install it

I don't believe it supported 6.0 until later releases.
