CUCM14 Compatibility

RHA

Hi,

we plan to upgrade from cucm 11.5 to 14. After taking a look into the compatibilty list, there are a few questions:

8941 phones are not deprecated, but they are not supported. Has anyone tested, if 8941 phones are working with CUCM14?

Does C881-V-K9 Routers work with CUCM 14?

Does VG224 Gateways work with CUCM 14? (someone in  a community threat wrote, that they will. Can anyone confirm this?)

Thank you, for your answers!

If the phones are not depricated, then the will work in CUCM 14. This doesn't have to do with a support from Cisco.
Why shouldn't the router work? It probably has just a h323 or SIP connection between the CUCM.
Same for VG224, why shouldn't they work. As long as the are not depricated in the CUCM 14.

You shouldn't mix up supported from Cisco's point of view and "supported" by a CUCM version. These are 2 different things.
Just because a phone is not supported by Cisco, doesn't mean that CUCM doesn't support it any more (as long as it's not depricated in the version).

This is the Cisco statement:

The following table lists Cisco endpoints that have reached the End of Support date, but which are not yet deprecated. Unlike deprecated endpoints, you can still deploy these endpoints in the latest release, but they are not supported actively, are not tested, and may not work.

They say: may work or may not work.

This is the reason, I asked.

Yes, but it also says: "Unlike deprecated endpoints, you can still deploy these endpoints in the latest release".
So, as long as the phone type is not depricated in CUCM 14, you can still select it when adding a phone.

If it is depricated, you cannot select it.

Again: Supported means, that you will get supported from Cisco, if you have problems with them.
It doesn't mean, that you cannot add them in CUCM.
